DETAILS
This DVD drive was used in some Mopar RHP navigation radios in the 2011-2015 time-frame. (Possibly other years too.) We know it can be used in the 05091661, 05091211, and 05091658 radios, but we don't have a list of other radio part numbers that use it at this time. You shouldn't buy it just because your radio is for a Mopar though. Match your current DVD drive up to the part number provided here: DV-04-130E. Seriously!! If your part number doesn't match, this likely won't work for you. If you decide to take a chance even though your number doesn't match, please understand you could be wasting some money. If it doesn't work in place of a different part number, that doesn't make it defective. It just makes it a failed experiment...
The drives come from New Old Stock dealer inventory leftover RHP radios. They were never used in a vehicle. The radios come right out of the Mopar boxes.
The drive has a ribbon cable attached, as pictured. The cable is removable. If yours needs to be longer, shorter, bent at a different angle, etc, you can re-use your original. We include ours because there's no point in throwing it away when you might be able to use it...
Changing this drive is not too bad. There are a few torx screws on the top plate. Once removed, the top part of the case can be rotated up at the front and pulled loose. Then there are 4 torx screws attaching the drive to the plate. (And a ribbon cable that needs detached, of course.) Still... y ou shouldn't be performing the repair unless you're qualified. It does work as described, if your part number matches one of those provided and you do the installation correctly.
If you've researched these DVD drives, you know this is a low price for a new one. We acquired a large number of New Old Stock nav radios as part of a bulk purchase. If we didn't have so many, we'd be asking what the other guys are...
