An indispensable addition to the turner's tool kit, double-ended calipers are ideal for both measuring vessel wall thicknesses and checking turning diameters. Using calipers while turning will increase the accuracy of measurement readings and transfers and speed the turning process.
The mirror image design of the caliper automatically transfers the measurement taken at one end to the opposite end so that you can take an accurate reading without removing the caliper from the work.
The increased throat depth of this 7" version allows them to be used on larger diameter vessels that have restricted openings. The calipers are made from plated steel for corrosion resistance and have a friction fit adjustment point. Caliper size denotes the measurement from the pivot point to the tool tip.
