Description
Technical Products #99L Double Winter Plug, #9 Top & #9 Bottom, 8.25" Rod, 4.70" Spacing, FF2099
Two plugs on one rod.
Technical Products #99L double plug (FF2099) puts two rubber expansion plugs on one rod: a #9 on top and a #9 on the bottom, 4.70" apart on an 8.25" rod, so one piece seals two openings in line. Technical Products builds its plugs from rubber, stainless steel and heavy duty nylon, so nothing in the plug corrodes sitting in a line all winter.

Good to Know
Which double plug do I need?
Match the rod length and the spacing between the two plugs to your plumbing. The 98L and 99L use an 8.25" rod with about 4.7" between plugs, the 98ANT a 7.5" rod with the plugs 1" apart, and the 98XL a 10" rod with 6.5" between plugs. The 99L carries two #9 plugs; the others pair a #9 top with a #8 bottom.
Will a winter plug stop freeze damage by itself?
No. A plug keeps water out of a line you have already cleared. Blow the line out and lower the water below the returns first, then set the plug. Snug the wing nut by hand until the rubber grips; a plug cranked tight all winter is harder to back off in spring.
